Integrated Modules
The unique curriculum of Mays Business School's Executive MBA Program is designed to mimic the patterns of business. By taking the typical MBA curriculum and breaking it into one or two day modules, our program systematically weaves disciplines together to highlight their interconnectivity.
For example, Financial Accounting (ACCT 610) is broken into four one-day modules:
- Balance Sheets and Income Statements, Cash Flows
- Employee Theft, Financing with Equity, Accounting in a Global Market
- Inventory Management and Inter-corporate Investments
- Fixed Assets, Derivatives
These accounting modules are woven into the second semester schedule among modules in finance, marketing, and management. Each weekend, participants will typically complete two modules - one each day - from different subject areas. This allows our faculty to highlight the interrelationship of the course material and build upon a common theme - “Managing the Value Creation Process.”
Since all organizations ultimately share a common goal – creating and sustaining value – each of our course modules examine how to meet this challenge in today's dynamic business environment. By building the theme of value creation into our curriculum, participants are able to simultaneously gain insight into specific business disciplines and develop their skills to add value to their organizations.
